CARPENTRY
My work has been featured in wineries, restaurants, shops and private homes. I like to use reclaimed, industrial and sustainable materials whenever possible. I also have a lot of experience designing, ordering, building, modifying and installing IKEA furniture and cabinets. I know which of these products are made with quality materials and which are not. Many IKEA products can be modified to meet design and space objectives and can be more affordable than custom furniture and cabinets. I often use all of these materials in conjunction to achieve a cohesive custom look.
RESTORATION | REPAIRS | FINISHES
I also do furniture and cabinet restoration, repairs and refinishing and can blacken or add patina to hardware and fixtures. Custom wood treatments include white washing, ebonizing, bleaching, shou sugi ban and aging.
THE PROCESS
I often work with clients on the design aspect of a project and then do the fabrication in my home shop. Once the fabrication is completed, I transport the pieces to the site and do the final tuning and installation. In cases where a lot of custom measuring and fabrication is required, I will bring my small mobile shop and set it up on site, out of the way. This allows me to do as much of the fabrication work as possible in the controlled environment of my shop and causes less disruption and mess in your life.
I'm a design and build carpenter, not a contractor. l often fill the gap when semi-custom work is the objective but the project doesn't warrant a contractor. I work on a time and material basis.
